President's
Note
June
2009
Dear Members,
What a fantastic night the Great Wall Dinner was! The weather
was perfect, good food & drinks, and great company with 318
guests dancing the night away. Thank you to everyone for their
support.
It’s now the time of year when we must say "good-bye"
to some of our dedicated committee members. Sue Grant, Laraine
Reason and Kylee Beasley are all leaving Beijing this summer.
Anyone who has heard of ANZA Beijing knows Sue Grant. For the
past four years Sue has given her energy, time, enthusiasm and
tirelessly worked for ANZA. Any newcomers soon heard that Sue
was the one to contact, where she always went out of her way to
make sure they were welcomed and felt part of the ANZA family.
Sue will be greatly missed in Beijing.
Laraine and Kylee have given their time, support and enthusiastic
ideas to the Committee over varying times, which has been greatly
appreciated and will be sincerely missed by ANZA.
On behalf of all members and friends I say "thank you"
and wish them the best for a happy, safe, fun filled future.
Finally, this will be my last newsletter for ANZA Beijing. After
much thought and due consideration I am stepping down as President
and from the Committee, as of 13th June 2009. I have enjoyed four
fabulous years with ANZA, met many great people and enjoyed some
sensational events. My sincere thanks to current and past committee
members for their support and friendship.
I wish the
new committee the very best for the future and know that ANZA
Beijing will continue to grow in strength and popularity.
To all the
wonderful members, friends and sponsors, your support and encouragement
have made this time an experience I will remember forever. Thank
you.
I look forward to seeing many of you at the drinks night on the
12th June (details below) or at future ANZA events. Once again,
thank you for giving me such wonderful memories and experiences.
Regards,
Geraldine Niven
