The ANZA Committee is an enthusiastic bunch of Aussies & Kiwis who meet once a month to plan upcoming ANZA events. It’s fun and the hours of commitment can vary according to what you can do. If you’d like to find out more, please contact us.
We are always looking for new Committee Members with fresh ideas, so please don’t hesitate to contact us and join us at the next meeting. Committee meetings are generally held at the conclusion of the monthly morning tea.
Present 2011/2012 ANZA Committee Members – we say farewell to Committee Members – Shannon Price, who is going to the greener pastures of Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia (we will miss you Shannon) and Kellie Hitchings, who is having a well earned break from Committee life but will be a familiar face at our ANZA events. Thanks for your tiresome and wonderful work girls. In December we also farwelled Jane & Julia from the present committee.
Jane, ANZA’s in-house graphic designer, proudly announced that she is with child! Jane will relocate to Australia for the final months of her pregnancy and first few months of bub’s life before returning to Beijing.
Julia, one of ANZA’s darling raffle cooridinators who you could never say no to, is moving on to a warmer pasture of Asia – Singapore for the next jaunt of her expat life.
After the departure of the J Js, at the December Morning Tea two more J Js joined the team, Jody Foster & Jody Sandral.
We welcome on board a few new members to the Committee. The ANZA Committee operates as an “all inclusive” flat structure with some Committee Members being responsible for specific tasks:

2010 ANZA Committee & AGM
We again bid farewell to some long standing Committee Members who are leaving Beijing, Pip Reid (who has looked after Memberships, the ANZA Website & Newsletters) and Sarah Scotti who has been our Sponsorship Coordinator. At a recent debrief Committee Meeting dinner after our Melbourne Cup Charity Luncheon held on Tue-02/11/10, the general consensus was that our event was a resounding success, from our guests’ enjoyment perspective and financially for our chosen charity, China Little Flower. Our event’s success was due to the commitment and collective team effort of our ANZA Committee team, our wonderful sponsors and key roles of both our MC, Dennis Oldfield and ‘Dave (Garnier) the Bookie’ on the day.
The 2010 ANZA AGM was held on Tuesday, 23rd March 2010 to elect this year’s Committee. A heart felt thank you to Jo Wheater who has stepped down as Treasurer, for all her work balancing the books for us and a warm welcome to Allison Deskovic who is our new incoming Treasurer.
A big thank you also to our outgoing 2009/2010 Committee Members – Joely Ham, Donna Lai, Joanne Wheater and Alex Wirawan who have all made such huge and valuable contributions to our ANZA Committee, and collectively with the rest of our voluntary committee ensured that our annual Great Wall Dinner held on Saturday, 22 May 2010 was such a huge and resounding success as an event, and for our support to worthwhile local charities.

The ANZA AGM was conducted on Friday, 20th March 2009. A great turnout ensured that all positions were filled for 2009. A big thank you to all our outgoing 2008 and 2009 Committee Members, especially Sue Grant and Geraldine Niven for their huge contribution to ANZA over the many years they served on the Committee.
